Ask anything about your golf.

It has read your last 11 captures, 6 rounds and every note Riaan has written you. Ask in your own words.

why do i keep blocking it right on the range but not on the course?

Because they are two different swings. On the range your pelvis turn averages 41°; in the four rounds you logged with driver stats it drops to 34° — closer to where you were in July. Less turn, the arms take over, and the face stays open. It is not a face problem, it is a tempo problem that only shows up when the shot counts.

Riaan's note from Thursday says the same thing in his words: “do not chase more, hold this.” The chair drill is what holds it. Try it as the last thing before you tee off, not just at the range.

Answers are built from your own measurements and your coach's drills. It says when it is unsure, and it never invents a number.

Practise with it watching.

Chair drill — hold the pelvis

Riaan set this on Thursday. Two sets of ten, before every basket. It stops the hips sliding toward the ball on the way down.

Measured on the device. The video never leaves your phone unless you send a swing to your coach, and for a junior it cannot be sent without a parent on the thread.

Did the change reach the scorecard?

The question the swing apps leave you to answer on your own.

Pelvis turn against driving accuracy

Each point is one logged round. The solid line is the swing measurement from the nearest capture that week.

Pelvis turn at P4, degrees — left axis Fairways hit per round — right axis Average score over the same span: 89 → 83

What it will claim

  • The measurement moved: turn 35° → 42°, sway 30 mm → 21 mm, across eleven captures.
  • The on-course number moved with it: fairways 5 → 9 a round over six rounds.
  • Both measured the same way each time, on the same phone, in the same frame.

What it won't

  • Six rounds is a small sample, and August was unusually still.
  • You had four lessons in that span — the coaching is not separable from the app.
  • One player's season is evidence, not proof.

An app that claims causation from six rounds is one a coach stops trusting by October. This one says what it does not know.

Good session. Your pelvis turn at the top is 42°, six degrees above your average, and the sway is down to 21 mm — the change we set three weeks ago is holding. Watch the early extension through P6: 34 mm, up seven. Keep the chair drill before every basket, two sets of ten, and film one swing Thursday.

It writes in your drills and your language because it has read every note you have sent. It never sends. For a junior that is not a setting you can turn off.
